How Settings Column Works

Access Column Settings:

Click on the column name or settings icon to access its configuration options.

Open Modal for Configuration:

Select the Settings Column option to open a modal window where you can update the following properties:

Title: Rename the column to better reflect its purpose (e.g., "In Progress" to "Development").

Color: Change the column's color to make it visually distinct from other columns.

Status: Update the status associated with the column (e.g., "Active," "Testing," "Completed").

Save Changes:

Once the desired changes are made, save the settings to apply them to the column.

Why Use Settings Column?

Improved Clarity: Customizing the title and color helps distinguish between different stages of the workflow, making the board easier to navigate.

Flexibility: Allows teams to tailor the board to their specific needs, ensuring it reflects their unique processes.

Enhanced Visualization : Using colors effectively can improve visual organization, helping team members quickly identify the status of tasks.

Deleting Columns with Delete Column

The Delete Column feature allows administrators to remove a column entirely from the board. When a column is deleted, all tasks within it—whether active or archived—are permanently removed. This ensures that unnecessary or outdated columns do not clutter the board.

How Delete Column Works

Access Column Settings:

Click on the column name or settings icon to access its configuration options.

Open Confirmation Modal:

Select the Delete Column option. A confirmation modal will appear, warning that all tasks within the column, whether active or archived, will be permanently deleted.

Confirm Deletion:

If you proceed by clicking Confirm, the column and all associated tasks will be irreversibly removed from the board.

Why Use Delete Column?

Board Cleanup: Removes unused or irrelevant columns, keeping the board clean and focused on active workflows.

Process Refinement: Allows teams to refine their workflow by eliminating columns that no longer serve a purpose.

Data Management : Ensures that unnecessary data does not accumulate, maintaining an organized and efficient board.

Best Practices for Using Settings Column and Delete Column

Plan Before Deleting: Ensure that the column being deleted is no longer needed and that all relevant data has been backed up or moved to another column if necessary.

Communicate Changes: Inform team members about any updates to column titles, colors, or deletions to avoid confusion.

Regularly Review Workflow: Periodically assess the board's structure to ensure it aligns with current project requirements and adjust settings or delete columns as needed.

By leveraging the Settings Column and Delete Column features, project administrators can maintain a well-organized and adaptable board that evolves alongside the team's needs. These tools empower teams to customize their workflow, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity throughout the project lifecycle.
